Shaiyen Jaunky was born on April 7, 1970, on the beautiful island of Mauritius. In his early twenties, he moved to the United States to begin a new chapter of life filled with purpose, love, and faith. On October 25, 2025, Shaiyen transitioned peacefully into eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
On September 22, 2013, Shaiyen married Oksana Buynovskaya. They were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Elianna and Alyonna, whom Shaiyen cherished deeply and loved beyond measure.
Shaiyen’s love for Jesus Christ guided everything he did. His faith wasn’t just spoken—it was lived. He joyfully shared the message of God with everyone he met, volunteered at church, and reached out to those in need. His heart was especially tender toward widows and families walking through difficult seasons.
A devoted father, Shaiyen took part in the Rett Syndrome Strollathon in support of his daughter Alyonna, showing his strength, compassion, and unwavering love. He also shared special moments with Elianna, teaching her to play the shofar, a sound that echoed his joy and devotion.
Those who knew Shaiyen remember his generous spirit, passionate conversations and big heart. He was a true foodie who loved cooking, sharing meals, and teaching others about plants, herbs, and natural health. His younger daughter, Alyonna, found her special bond with him in their love of food and French cartoons. His daughter, Elianna, remembers him fondly through fun memories of laughter and their many inside jokes — especially their silly “poo poo” jokes.
Shaiyen was preceded in death by his father, Sivaramen Jaunky, and his best friend, Rey Basa. He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith cherished by his wife Oksana, his beloved daughters Elianna and Alyonna, his mother Devi, his brothers Vadish and Johann, his sister Sharmila, his uncle Sivaramen and aunt Judith, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.
Shaiyen will be remembered as a devoted family man, a faithful servant of God. His light will continue to shine through the lives of all who loved him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
