Sherry Hartford Obituary

Sherry Annette Reed Hartford was born on March 27, 1961 in Dallas, Texas, to the parentage of Henry Lee Reed II and Mertis James Reed. She transitioned to eternity with her Lord and Savior on February 20, 2020, in Dallas, Texas.

Sherry graduated from Skyline High School in 1978. She graduated from Amberton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Relations and two Master of Arts degrees. Licensed for over 20 years in Texas, Sherry enjoyed a long-time career as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker and Ebby Halliday. Sherry also owned A Nail Touch nail salon in Rowlett, Texas, for 10 years. For the past 11 years, she worked for Dallas County Health and Human Services.

On March 31, 1979, Sherry married the love of her life, Stevan. The two enjoyed life together, raised two college-educated sons, and remained faithfully united until her transition.

Affectionately admired for her taglines, “Jesus Christ is a Healer” and "God will take care of you because He always takes care of me", Sherry accepted Christ at a young age. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park where she was faithful in serving in various ministries, including the Communion Board, First Friends Greeting Ministry, and True Love Waits.

A friendly, concerned, loving, active, and spiritual soul who touch the lives of many, Sherry will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Lee Reed II and Mertis James. Those left to cherish precious memories include her devoted husband, Stevan Hartford; sons, Stevan Hartford II and Stevedric Hartford (Roseletty "Rose" Feliciano); granddaughters who regarded her as "Lolly", Olivia Hartford and Victoria Hartford; mother of her granddaughters, Marita Hartford; sister, Sandra Jennings (Oliver); brother, Henry Reed III (Khaison); mother-in-law, Eva Jones; sister-in-law, Thyra Gordon (Clifford); brother-in-law, David Jones (Sherry); nephews: Bertram Jennings, Charles Jennings, Brandon Hubert, Denim Jones, David Venters, and Julius Reed; niece, Yyannia Jennings; many special angels who cared for her until her transition; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
