Shirley Ann Moore was born on November 19, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Texas to her parents, Vergil Moore and Mary Muldrew. She transitioned to eternity on August 17, 2021, in Dallas, Texas.
Shirley grew up in Idabel, Oklahoma, and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1968. She moved to Dallas, Texas shortly thereafter.
She was employed at Safeway Stores as a cashier until completing her barber license. She successfully owned and operated Shirley’s Barber and Beauty in the Love Field/North Park sector of Dallas for over 30 years. She ran her shop like she ran her home - by carrying out God’s command to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and spread the gospel of love to hurting souls who crossed her path.
Shirley was a member of Love Chapel Church of God in Christ and served faithfully under the late Pastor Phillip White and Pastor W.K. Williams until her death. She served as Pastor’s Aide and Church Treasurer for more than 40 years.
Shirley enjoyed shopping, HGTV, Perry Mason, CSI, and Westerns (Gunsmoke etc). Her favorite color was red, but you would never know because she wore black and white.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, William McCoy; son, Charmeachealle Moore; sister, Mary Ford; sister, Deborah Giddens; brother, Anthony Fisher; and brother-in-law, Eugene Robinson.
Those left to cherish precious memories include her daughter, Lagia Parker and her husband, Christopher Parker; grandchildren - Autris Moore, LaPortia Hurse and her husband, Michael Hurse, Charmeachealle Moore, Jr. and his wife, Victoria Moore, and Caleb Parker and his wife, Charity Parker; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Virgil Lee Lewis and her husband, Charles Lewis; sister, Sheila Robinson; brother, Philip Parker; brother, Anthony Moore; brother-in-law, Luther Ford; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
II Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
