Steven Sodachanh was born on February 28, 1955. He passed away to meet his mother and father in eternity on September 15, 2021. Steven was born in the country of Laos and his entire family immigrated to the United States in 1979. Steven's family was sponsored by the Baptist Church in Yazoo City, Mississippi, and was graciously hosted by the Church once they all moved to the United States.
He spent the majority of his childhood in Laos and Southeast Asia and lived his adulthood in the United States. Steven was always a friendly man and a kind soul making friends everywhere he went. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and loved to tell jokes.
Steven worked as a welder for thirty years in Dallas, TX, and before that he was a mechanic. He was always a handyman and knew his way around a car. A true do-it-yourselfer - there was never a weekend project he could not tackle. Steven also enjoyed cooking and loved to eat. Family gatherings were always common at his home with a fully furnished menu.
Steven married his wife Kathy in Dallas, TX on May 24, 1985. The two started their life together in Texas and had two loving sons.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Khamdy and Onnheng Sodachanh; Steven is survived by his wife of 37 years Kathy; sons - Jimmy and Richard; grandchildren - Ophelia, Theodore, Richard, and Wesley; siblings - Somvang, Bounlieng, Phoungeun, Tone, Tiang, Sompong, Somphet, Diana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
