A Time To Be Born
I was born to the parentage of Tally H. & Anna Beth Roberson, in Dallas, on February 6, 1947.
A Time For Every Purpose Under The Sun
I attended St. Peter’s Academy, K. B. Polk Elementary, and Booker T. Washington Technical High School. While in high school, I played football, joined the ROTC, and became a part of the Ambassadors Choir. As a child, I joined and attended Bethany Baptist Church.
A Time To Love
I met and married the love of my life, Freddie Ruth Robertson. We became the proud parents of two sons, Tally Jr. (Jacqueline) and Terry Sr. (Kristi), grandparents of four grandsons, Alex, Aeron, Terry Jr., and Trenton, one granddaughter, Brandi, along with 6 great-grandchildren. You all have been the greatest joy of my life.
A Time To Work
It was an honor to provide for my family, including 35 years with American Airlines and serving the community by owning Main Street Paint and Body in Deep Ellum and Lemon Fresh Wash and Dry on Lemmon Avenue, which I built from the ground up.
A Time For Leisure
Some of my fondest memories were made riding my motorcycle, going for a drive in one of my muscle cars, attending the NHRA Fall Nationals at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, going to car shows, building cars, or simply spending a day watching western TV shows or listening to Incognito. But above all, what I cherished most was spending time with family—whether it was gathering for reunions in Mexia, celebrating birthdays and holidays, or simply sitting down together for a good ribeye steak dinner. Those moments with family are the memories I treasure most.
A Time To Sleep
At last, the road has grown quiet, and the journey that carried me through seasons of joy, sorrow, hope, and wonder leads me gently home. Though I have slipped beyond your sight, do not think of me as gone. I am in the warmth of the morning sun, the whisper of a gentle breeze, and the cherished memories that still make you smile. Let your hearts be comforted, knowing that I have found peace and rest, free from pain and care. When you miss me, look not to the shadows of farewell, but to the light of the love we shared, for love does not end with parting; it remains, like a steady star in the night sky, guiding, comforting, and shining through the lives of those I hold dear. Rest easy in the knowledge that my gratitude for you is eternal, and that the bonds of family and friendship are stronger than time, distance, or even death itself.
Sleep is the final sunset of a well-lived day, when the soul, no longer burdened by the cares of the world, settles gently into the arms of peace. There, amid the quiet beauty of eternity, it finds rest, while the love it shared continues to shine in the hearts of those left behind.
A Time To Mourn
My loving family left to cherish my memory are my wife, Freddie R. Roberson;, two loving sons, Tally F. Roberson, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline, and Terry T. Roberson, Sr. and his wife, Kristi; four caring sisters, Barbara Harmon and husband Curtis, Cheryl Barrett, Linda Thompson and Princess Cherry; two brothers-in-law, Donnie Robertson and wife Sharon, and Tony Robertson; two sisters-in-laws, Mary Bowens and Kimberly McKinney and husband Dennis; four grandsons, Alex Roberson (wife Brianna), Aeron Roberson (wife Lorissa), Terry Roberson, Jr., Trenton Roberson, one granddaughter Brandi DeHorney, along with 6 great-grandchildren. I was preceded in death by my father and mother, Tally H. & Anna Beth; two brothers, Errol Jenkins and Chauncey Jenkins, Jr.; three sisters, Verna Jean Montena, Charlotte Evenson, and Beverly Quigley. And that’s not all; there is a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
