Tunde Mustapha Obawunmi was born on March 29, 1976, to Adisa Fatai and Margret Adunbi Obawunmi in Nigeria. He passed away on October 28, 2022, in Cisco, Texas.
Tunde graduated from the National Open University of Nigeria where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurial and Business Management in 2014. In his early years, he enjoyed a long-time career at Ogun State Hospital Management Board for over 10 years. In 2022, Tunde received his CDL and became a professional truck driver.
He relocated to the United States and married the love of his life, Chilquita D. Crosby, on November 3, 2017. The two remained united in matrimony until his transition.
Tunde loved traveling, music, singing, dancing, soccer, and spending time with his family. He will be fondly remembered for his intelligent, attentive, resilient, hardworking, and determined nature. His loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tunde was preceded in death by his father, Adisa Fatai Obawunmi. Those left to cherish precious memories include his loving wife, Chilquita Obawunmi; children - Pelumi Abimbola Obawunmi, Grace Adeayo Obawunmi, and Afolabi Afolarin Obawunmi; step-children, Gregory Thomas and Shardae Keys; mother, Margret Adunbi Obawunmi; parents-in-law, Diane Jones and Wilson Crosby, Jr.; siblings - Kolade Moshood Obawunmi, Olubunmi Taofeek Obawunmi, Bola Omonike Obawunmi, Ganiyat Obawunmi, and Jelili Obawunmi; brother-in-law, Antwan Jones; sister-in-law, April Page; nieces and nephews – Miracle, Ayo, Lucky, Feranmi, Daniel, Modupe, Antwan “AJ”, Alexis, Adrian, Alicia, Amya, and Aryanah; childhood friends, Okewoye Olalekan and Somoye Adegboyega; a host of other relatives and friends.
