Verbena Denise (Anderson) Johnson

Verbena Denise (Anderson) Johnson was born on March 15, 1960. She transitioned to eternity on November 30, 2024. 

Verbena graduated from W.T. White High School on May 26,1978. She later attended ATI Career Training Center where she earned her certification as a Registered/Certified Medica Assistant. She worked for some years in healthcare with her sisters, but went on to enjoy a career in technology.

In September of 1992, Verbena married the love of her life, Raymond. The two remained united until his transition.

Verbena will be fondly remembered for her straight-shooter, feisty, comical, and loving nature. She was a confidant to many, and her listening ear and counsel will be cherished forever. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Johnson; her mother, Amanda Garrett; her father, Buckney Terrell; and her sisters, Sherry Monroe and Tammie Monroe. 

Those left to cherish lasting memories include her sisters - Avis Dickerson, Tracy Watkins, Lisa Terrell, Sheryl Terrell, Karen Samuel, and Vera Hawkins; her dearest cousin who she regarded as her dear sister, Sharon Grant; her cousins who she regarded as honorary sisters, Trina Gibson and Roni Anderson; her son, Taurean Anderson; her daughter, Ashley Anderson; her son, Mark Davenport; her daughter, Taquita Johnson; her nephews and nieces - Robert Burns, Shari Monroe, Cornelius Rogers, and Andrew Rogers; and a host of cousins, great-nephews and nieces, grandchildren, and friends.
