Virginia Catherine Hamilton Cohen

Virginia Catherine Hamilton Cohen was born on February 2, 1935, in Dallas, Texas. Surrounded by her loving family, she peacefully transitioned to eternity on October 26, 2023, in Richardson, Texas.

Virginia attended Booker T. Washington High School. In 1952, she graduated and went on to enjoy a lifetime commitment of nurturing and caring for her family. 

On May 1, 1954, she united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Eddie Cohen. The two remained united for 69 years until Eddie's transition on July 25, 2023. 

Virginia accepted Christ at a young age. She remained faithful in her walk with Christ and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and Bexar Street Baptist Church. 

Virginia will be fondly remembered for her devoted, sensitive, and supportive nature. Her loving and caring spirit will be cherished forever. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband. Eddie Louis Cohen; her parents, Bennie and Amelia Hamilton; her siblings - Alzemia Calloway, Bennie Hamilton, Jr., Mitchell Hamilton, David Hamilton, Beatrice Scott, Eddie Hamilton, Alma Eatmon, and Adell Day; and her parents-in-law, Eddie and Hattie Mae Cohen. 

Those left to cherish precious memories include  her daughters, Patsy Anderson (Ralph) and Peggy Johnson (Charles); her son, Victor Cohen; her grandchildren - Victor Johnson, Torrey Cohen, Porschea Brown, Vincent Cohen, Roschea Anderson, and Crystal Johnson; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Exie Bell Shaw; her sisters-in love, Mary Elizabeth Pleasant and Eleanor B. Hamilton; and many nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
