Willetta Eugenia (Cuffee) Jackson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Willetta E. Jackson, a friend to hundreds, a mentor to dozens, admired and respected by all who crossed her path.

Willetta Eugenia Jackson was born on March 1, 1945, in Norfolk, Virginia. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Surrounded by her loving family, she passed away on June 13, 2026, in the comfort of her home. Willetta’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and dedication.  

Willetta attended primary and secondary schools throughout San Diego, California. She graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1961. After completing her education, she explored careers with San Diego Gas & Electric. Willetta was an assistant to former Mayor Frank Curran (San Diego, 1963 - 1971), modeled for La Mins Fashions, and was a team leader at Lennox International.   

Willetta united in holy matrimony with Herman "Bob" Jackson on April 15, 1967. She spent many years as a homemaker for her husband and a mother to her son, Elimu R. Jackson, Sr. Her commitment to her family extended to her many friends and acquaintances. Willetta was also very active at her church before becoming ill. She was a woman of faith with many talents and passions.

Willetta’s love for fashion, decorating, cooking, and crafting was apparent to all who knew her. She was an avid reader, a team leader at work and church, and a natural beauty. Her commitment and enthusiasm for the Lord were evident in her work in ministry, inspiring others to commit as well.  

Those who are left to cherish precious memories include her loving and dedicated husband, Herman "Bob" Jackson; her son, Elimu R. Jackson, Sr.; her grandson, Elimu R. Jackson, Jr.; her four brothers, Eugene aka Shorty, Michael (Maria), Kevin (Gloria), and Terrance (Tracy); her sister, Robyn (Reginald); as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, ‘sistah friends’, other relatives, and friends.  

Willetta’s memory will live on through each of us whose lives have been enriched by her unwavering love and support. Willetta lived her life to the fullest, the way she wanted to, and never looked back.

A memorial service to celebrate Willetta’s life will be held on a later date.
