Willie Jean (Brown) Carson was born on April 20, 1948, in Porterville, Mississippi. Surrounded by her loving family, she transitioned to eternity with her Lord and Savior on January 13, 2025, in Wylie, Texas.
Jean, as she was affectionately called, graduated from McKinley High School and went on to attend Florissant Valley Community College. She enjoyed a career as a dietician. After many years of devoted service, she retired from John Cochran VA Hospital on August 20, 1994.
On August 2, 1989, Jean married Charley Floyd Carson. The two remained united until his transition.
Jean accepted Christ and was steadfast in her faith. She was a part of the Nursing Home Ministry and Home-to-Home Ministry. Among many hobbies, she delighted in junking and sharing the love of Jesus. She will be fondly remembered for her Godly, caring, generous, and friendly nature. Her loving and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Floyd Carson; son, Kobie K. Craft; mother, Birder Mae Brown; father, Rosom Brown, Sr.; and siblings - Hattie Albertey, Lamon Brown, Sr. Ray Anthony Brown, Sr., and Leroy Brown.
Those left to cherish precious memories include her children - Derek Craft, Sr., Orlando Carson, Demetrius Carson, and Charles Carson; her grandchildren - Derek Craft, Jr. and DeAndre Craft; her great-grandchildren - D'Kiya Craft, Dariq Craft, Dary Craft, Dynasti Craft, and Dre'ya Craft; her siblings - Annie Pearl Murphy, Rosom Brown, Jr., Fredrick Brown, Sr., Marilyn Brown, Ben Brown (Michelle), Pinkie, Charles Brown, Sr. (Jackie), and Terrell Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
