Thomas Eugene Ruffin, Jr. was born on December 4, 1956, to the parentage of Thomas Eugene Ruffin, Sr. and Mary Louise LeBlanc Ruffin in Dixon, Illinois. He transitioned to be with his Heavenly Father on January 6, 2018, in Dallas, Texas.

Thomas attended Lincoln Elementary School. Upon graduation from Dixon High School, he went on to attend Fresno State University on a basketball scholarship. For more than 20 years, Thomas enjoyed a career in Information Technology management at TXU.

He married Yolanda Andrews, and the two were blessed with a son, James. Later, he united in holy matrimony with Cassandia Jackson. In their union, they became loving and caring parents to five children.

Thomas loved the Lord, as he accepted Christ at an early age at Second Baptist Church in Dixon, Illinois. When he relocated to Dallas, he attended Oakcliff Bible Fellowship under the leadership of Dr. Tony Evans. During most recent years, he attended Mt. Hebron Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Leonard O. Leach.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Cassandia Marie Ruffin. Those left to cherish precious memories include his three sons: James Andre Ruffin, Carlous Cortez, and Jeffery Jackson-Stewart (Lakisha); two daughters, Lonzetta Jackson and Tori Stewart (Andre); honorary daughter, Joi Ruffin; 15 grandchildren: Carlisha Harper (Ti’Dedric), Carterica Wonzer, Carlonzo Jackson, Dallas Cortez, Arhianna Sims-Jackson, Brooklyn Cobb-Snead, Courtney Williams, Erin Wooten, Jazmine Jackson-Stewart, Destin Jackson-Stewart, Jayden Jackson-Stewart, Casey Ford, Khloe Jackson-Stewart, Aden Ford, and Charlie Ford; eight great-grandchildren: Rhyan Williams, Londyn Martin, Karter Martin, Jordan Osborne, Joi Harper, Madison Allen, Ti’Dedric Harper II, and Climmie Bell, Jr.; two sisters, Victoria Ocanpo (Eddie) and Barbara Ruffin Dansler; four brothers: James Grey (Deleryne), George Ruffin (Elaine), Clyde Ruffin (Desiree), and Lester Ruffin (Pamela); and a host of other relatives and friends.
